A Győri Balett a 2017/18-as évadban ismét egy két felvonásos, egész estés balett művel jelentkezik, és nem kevesebbre vállalkozik, mint az amerikai író Nathaniel Hawthorne nagy sikerű, A skarlát betű címet viselő regényének első balett színpadi adaptációjának bemutatására.

A Győri Balett igazán különleges esttel készül Vivaldi A négy évszak és Schubert A halál és a lányka színpadi találkozása egyszerre hozza közel a barokk és a romantika világát, valamint a 21. századi újraértelmezések friss erejét. A zene és a mozdulat egymást erősítve vezetik végig a nézőt az élet nagy kérdésein, az örök körforgás szépségein és fájdalmain.

We get an insight into the ritual-filled life of barbarian settlement trying to seek out a living on the ruins of a civilisation and fighting for survival, fighting with their fears, trying to live through all things fate brings on to them.

A Győri Balett előadása a világirodalom egyik leghíresebb románca, az Anna Karenina táncszínházi adaptációja, amelyet Velekei László Seregi- és Harangozó-díjas koreográfus állított színpadra. A Tolsztoj klasszikus művén alapuló koreográfia középpontjában Anna, a tragikus sorsú asszony áll, az ő szenvedélyes szerelmét, vívódásait és anticipált bukását ülteti át együttesünk a tánc nyelvére.

It’s been a dream come true when the creators of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble came across the fresh-sounding, popular, dynamic music of Nikola Parov filled with ancient themes. For this ethno music composed uncommonly with saxophone, drums and brass, the choreographers have created the most dynamic, most powerful movements of the Hungarian folk-dance, a real dance storm.

The most renowned ensemble in Slovakia – the Slovak DanceTheatre (SDT) – whose productions have been presented worldwide from New York to Tokyo, is set to appear in Budapest for the very first time with the premiere of itslatest production, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Hungary will hold the Presidency of the Visegrád Group (V4) from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. The Hungarian Presidency will focus on strengthening the competitiveness of the region and deepening policy cooperation with Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Hungary is committed to ensuring that the V4 partnership remains stable, dynamic, and fruitful, especially in the development of cultural relations.

This production of the FrenÁk Company features adynamic team, the members of a new generation. The young, creative dancers draw on the energies of their colourful cultural and linguistic differences as they bring a new creative approach to FrenÁk’s concept. It is a fusion of the arts, a multimedia work with two contrasting yet complementary parts that reflect on the contradictions of our times.

Confinement and isolation, freedom and endlessness. FrenÁk’s emotionally charged choreographic structures use dynamic forms of movement to gain visibility and captivate the audience. The performance moves on the borderline between harsh reality and imaginary visions, where listening to our inner voices demands an unconscious balancing act on the edge of madness.

The Fitos Dezső Dance Company is careful to regularly stage dance theatre performances that consider the authentic transmission of folklore and the cultures of various historical Hungarian regions as their primary goal. Transylvania Express is a selection of Transylvanian dances and music. With this performance, we want to convey the message that traditional culture lives on in all of us who believe in the value of keeping tradition alive—because tradition defines our future!

The Faces of Love is deeply rooted in three iconic works by Sándor Márai: Embers, Esther’s Inheritance, and Divorce in Buda. These works are significant not only for their literary value, but also for the way in which they masterfully and sensitively portray the deepest and most complex layers of the relationship between men and women, which are relevant in all times and cultures. The performance uses this rich emotional and philosophical background to stage the universal story of love in three distinct, yet intertwined images, with the help of live music and Márai’s poems.
